Who we are
Pacero is a training assistant for runners.
Data we process
- Account: email, sign-in credentials in secured form, app language, and basic account settings.
- Runner profile: name or display name, nickname, gender, age, height, weight, training preferences, goals, races, training days, and plan settings.
- Public or friend profile: About me text, city or town, region, country, and visibility settings if you choose to fill in or share these details in Friends.
- Training data: workouts synced through Apple Health or Health Connect, uploaded GPX/FIT files, and manually logged workouts. These may include distance, duration, pace, heart rate, zones, elevation, cadence, and other metrics when available.
- Health data: if you allow it, Pacero may process selected data available through Apple Health or Health Connect, such as sleep, resting heart rate, HRV, and related daily metrics needed for Pacero Readiness.
- GPX/FIT files: if you upload an activity from a file, Pacero processes the data needed to display it, calculate metrics, and analyze the activity.
- Manually logged activities: if you log a workout manually, we process the data you enter, such as date, activity type, duration, distance, heart rate, perceived effort, elevation, and note.
- Club data and communication: if you use clubs, we process data about club membership, club workouts, posts, comments, discussions, and messages you create in the club.
- App usage: technical and product events needed to operate, secure, diagnose, support, and improve the service.
- Sharing settings: choices that determine what is visible to friends, in profiles, activities, goals, challenges, or clubs.
How we use data
- to create and manage your account,
- to prepare your training plan,
- to calculate training metrics,
- to display progress,
- to provide Pacero activity analyses and clear feedback,
- to send weekly reports,
- to include manually logged workouts in the plan, progress and weekly reports,
- to display and manage clubs, club workouts, discussions, comments, and messages,
- to moderate, handle reported content, protect users, and keep the service safe,
- to support users and resolve issues,
Legal basis for processing
We process data depending on the purpose of processing, mainly based on:
- performance of a contract or steps before entering into a contract — account creation, login, training plan, activity display and core app functionality,
- consent — connecting external data sources, such as Apple Health or Health Connect, and processing selected data that the user allows,
- legitimate interest — app security, abuse prevention, technical logs, diagnostics and basic product events needed to operate the service,
- legal obligations — if paid features are launched in the future, for example accounting or tax obligations.
Apple Health and Health Connect
If you allow access to Apple Health or Health Connect in the mobile app, Pacero processes only the data you allow and that is needed to display activities, calculate training metrics, training load, progress, and Pacero Readiness.
Data availability depends on the device, watch app, and permissions in Apple Health or Health Connect. Pacero cannot read data you do not allow.
Pacero does not use this data for public leaderboards, social comparison, or showing it to other users.
Pacero is not medical diagnostics. Pacero Readiness compares selected values with your own history and provides training recommendations.
Clubs, discussions, and messages
Content you add to a club, discussion, or message is used to display communication and operate club features. This content may be visible to members of the relevant club or to people selected by the club settings.
Pacero does not show club messages publicly outside the relevant club unless this follows from the club settings or a user action.
Authorized Pacero administrators may access this content only to the extent needed to operate the service, provide technical support, maintain safety, handle reported content, or address rule violations.
Club messages and posts are not end-to-end encrypted. Data transfer is protected with a secure connection, and database access is limited through technical and organizational measures.
Friends and private sharing
Friends sharing is visible only to confirmed friends, selected friends, or the audience you explicitly choose. There is no silent following without mutual friendship.
Pacero uses engagement-first defaults for Friends, but you can turn off pace, heart rate, map, Pacero verdict, zones, planned-workout context, goals and weekly reports. Historical activities are not shared automatically when Friends is activated.
Maps shared with friends are anonymized by default by hiding the start and end of the route. You can hide the map completely.
Sleep, resting heart rate, HRV, Pacero Readiness scores, readiness reasons, raw health payloads, raw samples and raw routes are not shared with friends.
Friends comments are not end-to-end encrypted. Pacero administrators may review reported posts or comments only as needed for safety, support, moderation or rule enforcement.
Pacero Readiness and notifications
If Pacero Readiness is active and you allow the needed data, Pacero may prepare a morning recommendation based on sleep, resting heart rate, HRV, training load, and the planned workout when those data points are available.
We use push notifications for neutral alerts, for example that a workout analysis or morning recommendation is ready. On the lock screen, we do not show sensitive values or health verdicts.
The detailed recommendation is shown inside the app.
AI explanations
Pacero may use AI to create clear text explanations of training metrics, plans, progress, or Pacero Readiness. AI does not independently decide calculations, scores, or safety rules. The app calculates those values first.
We do not send raw GPS routes, GPX/FIT files, raw health samples, or detailed raw streams to AI. AI receives a limited summary of calculated metrics and signals needed to create a clear explanation.
For manually logged activities, explanations may be limited because Pacero may not have detailed stream data.
We do not use AI to train models on your personal training or health data.
Who helps us operate Pacero
We do not sell your data or share it with other users. To operate Pacero, we use technical service providers such as hosting, database, email service, error monitoring, app analytics, push notifications, or an AI service for explanations. These providers process data only to the extent needed to operate, secure, and support Pacero.
Cookies and local storage
Pacero uses necessary cookies and local storage needed for sign-in, security, remembering basic settings, and running the app. We do not use these technologies for marketing tracking. If we enable analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we will ask for separate consent before using them.
Transfers outside the EU/EEA
Some technical service providers may process data outside the EU/EEA, for example for hosting, email delivery, monitoring or AI explanations. If such a transfer takes place, we use appropriate safeguards under applicable law, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
Disconnecting connected services
You can change access to Apple Health or Health Connect in your mobile device settings or in the Pacero mobile app under Integrations. After disconnecting, Pacero stops reading new data from that service.
Already imported training records and calculated metrics may remain in the account so you can follow history, plan, and progress unless you request their deletion or delete the account.
Deleting account and data
You can delete your account directly in the app under Settings → Privacy and data. Account deletion is permanent. Training data, activities, metrics, Pacero analyses, races, goals and notes will be deleted or anonymized. Connected services will be disconnected and stored access credentials will be removed if Pacero stores them. If you need help with deletion or want to remove only specific imported data, contact us at podpora@pacero.sk.
Data export
You can request a data export by emailing podpora@pacero.sk. We will prepare an export of the data Pacero stores for your account.
Retention
We keep account data for the duration of the account. Training records and calculated metrics are kept for the duration of the account so you can follow your plan, progress, and history. Raw import data, detailed stream data, or technical payloads from imports and syncs are kept only as long as needed for import, metric calculation, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
Daily health metrics used for Pacero Readiness are kept for the duration of the account or until deletion according to the user's settings and rights. Club posts, comments, and messages are kept for the duration of the account or club, or until deletion if the feature allows deletion. Some records may be kept for a limited time for safety, legal, or audit purposes. After account deletion, data is deleted or anonymized except for minimal data we must keep under law or to protect legal claims.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. Passwords are stored in secured form. Data transfer uses a secure connection when the app is deployed on a public domain.
Your rights
Under applicable law, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability or object to processing. Contact us at podpora@pacero.sk.
Supervisory authority
If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates data protection rules, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Office of the Slovak Republic.
